How to select a good Mortgage Broker With Mortgage Brokers now writing more than 30% of all home loans in Australia and growing, there are some brokers with questionable ethics. The following information will assist you in selecting a Mortgage Broker that has your best interest at heart, not theirs. The first step is to ask questions, find out from the broker how long they have been involved in the finance industry, ask them how many loans they write on average per month and if they can provide references from clients that they have completed loans for. You should also ask how many lenders they have access to, as this can be a good guide to their impartiality when providing you with advice. If a broker only has access to one or two lenders you would have to ask how impartial their advice is. Some real eastate companies are owned by major banks and have set up their own mortgage broking arms,as previously mentioned if you are being refered to the lender that owns the company you should compare thoroughly the advice and products being offerd. If the broker you are considering using has any concerns about about answering any of the above questions, you should consider going elsewhere. A good Mortgage Broker will be only to pleased to answer the above questions and offer references from past and current clients. Mark Wehse Home Loans prides it's self on the number of referrals we receive from existing clients. In summary when selecting your Motgage Broker ask questions, investigate some products prior to your appointment, ask for references from other clients, should the broker have any hesitation in answering your questions terminate the interveiw and go elsewhere.
